Angioplasty in coronary bifurcation: provisional stent technique

چکیده
Bifurcation lesions are present in one out of every five percutaneous coronary interventions. Despite the progress techniques, materials, and imaging technologies, bifurcation approach remains challenging, its treatment results higher rates adverse cardiac events when compared to with no involvement. The best technique treat is still a subject debate. For most cases, provisional preferred, since it simpler, easier, faster, less expensive, presents better clinical several studies analyzed. two-stent technique, especially double kissing crush, has shown than method complex anatomies. This review aimed discuss rationale for using approach, describing planning various stages, establishing main indications.

A randomized trial of a dedicated bifurcation stent versus provisional stenting in the treatment of coronary bifurcation lesions.
BACKGROUND Bifurcation lesions are frequent among patients with symptomatic coronary disease treated by percutaneous coronary intervention. Current evidence recommends a conservative (provisional) approach when treating the side branch (SB). OBJECTIVES The TRYTON (Prospective, Single Blind, Randomized Controlled Study to Evaluate the Safety & Effectiveness of the Tryton Side Branch Stent Used...

We report the case of a rare anomaly of the right coronary artery originated from the middle third of the left anterior descending (LAD) coronary artery with a proximal atheromatous obstructive lesion immediately before the emergence of the right coronary artery (RCA). The patient underwent successful angioplasty with stent implantation in the left anterior descending coronary artery. Only 7 ca...
متن کاملStent treatment of coronary artery bifurcation lesions.
In percutaneous coronary interventions (PCIs), the treatment of bifurcation lesions is a challenge to the interventional cardiologist. PCI operators, in general, use the term coronary artery bifurcation (from latin furca 1⁄4 fork, branch): (i) when a coronary artery divides into two equally important branches or (ii) when a main branch gives away a side branch, which is large enough to be of ha...
متن کاملOptimal coronary balloon angioplasty with provisional stenting versus primary stent (OCBAS): immediate and long-term follow-up results.
OBJECTIVE This study sought to compare two strategies of revascularization in patients obtaining a good immediate angiographic result after percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA): elective stenting versus optimal PTCA. A good immediate angiographic result with provisional stenting was considered to occur only if early loss in minimal luminal diameter (MLD) was documented at 30 mi...
